Career Ambassador Program 2025-2026 

Are you looking for a prestigious opportunity to shape the student experience at Northeastern University, develop professional skills, build valuable connections, and join a dynamic community of innovative student leaders? Do you excel at interpersonal communication and have a passion for guiding others? 

The Employer Engagement and Career Design (EECD) department is seeking undergraduate and graduate students with internship, co-op, or work experience to join our team as Career Ambassadors. 

As a Career Ambassador, you’ll play a key role in supporting fellow students and alumni with their career development, helping them build essential skills for success. You will be trained to provide personalized 1:1 career advising on topics such as job and internship searches, networking strategies, resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile optimization, and interview preparation. Additionally, you will represent EECD at tabling events, pop-up activities, and occasional weekend events. 

           **Please note that this is an unpaid opportunity, but is eligible for work study **
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct personalized 1:1 career advising sessions during Career Studio On-the-Go weekday evening hours (in-person, Monday–Thursday, 6–8 PM), with potential opportunities to support Virtual Career Studio drop-in shifts (5–7 PM) as needed.
  • Provide guidance on job and internship searches, networking strategies, resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn profiles, and interview preparation. 
  • Represent EECD at campus events, assisting with tabling, pop-up activities, and occasional weekend events. 
  • Actively participate in training and ongoing professional development to enhance advising skills and knowledge of career topics. 

Qualifications: 

  • Undergraduate students in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th year, or 2nd year graduate students with relevant co-op, internship, or work experience preferred. 
  • Self-motivated, independent, and innovative. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Presentation skills are a plus. 
  • Comfortable working with students and providing quality advice. 
  • Proficiency with virtual platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Excel, and other technologies. 

Additional Information: 

  • This is an evening role with shifts lasting 2 hours between 5:00-8:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. Ambassadors are expected to work two shifts per week, plus occasional weekend afternoon events. 
  • Unpaid volunteer position; eligible for work-study funding. 
  • Part-time student hybrid role (4-8 hours/week). 
  • Open to both domestic and international students. 
  • Completion of Career Ambassador training and one year of service qualifies you for a Career Mentor Digital Badge. 
  • Exclusive access to 1:1 career mentorship with the Career Design team and unique resources.
