Seeking a fun, outside the box internship where you get a 360 degree view of how to run a political campaign — then apply to the Blue Lab! You get to work on the ground in an election year and learn the 4 elements of a successful campaign: fundraising, field, communications, and operations.The Blue Lab is currently seeking associates for the Massachusetts fall term.
Become a Blue Lab Associate and have the opportunity to:
– Directly influence the local and statewide political landscape of Massachusetts, and other states- Work remotely with professional staff and other interns throughout the semester- Explore Massachusetts political landmarks such as the Edward M. Kennedy Institute and the State House- Attend events and listen to prominent political figures offer their opinions on the most pressing issues facing the State and Country (on a volunteer basis).- Brainstorm campaign strategy face to face with high profile clients- Gain experience from Scott Ferson and the veteran team of consultants at Liberty Square Group- Design videos, pamphlets, logos, and graphics featured as staples of actual campaigns- Level the playing field by providing a fully functioning campaign to progressive candidates that may otherwise be unable to compete with traditional campaigns- Compose vital press releases, opposition research, debate prep and social media profiles to give our candidates an advantage only The Blue Lab can provide
EXPERIENCE:
Associates come from a variety of academic backgrounds, including history, political science, journalism, business, environmental science, and international relations.
– Preferably is an undergraduate student studying at a Massachusetts or New England based university- Preferably has knowledge of Massachusetts politics – You do not need campaign experience in order to be considered for this internship
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: – Excellent oral and written communication skills – Ability to work with candidate to achieve key goals and tasks on a daily basis – Execution-focused and works productively under deadlines – Strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills – Team player- Understanding of and exemplifying Democratic values, serving as a role model of the vision and values set by the party- Growth mindset: openness to feedback, willingness to learn, and desire to grow with the team
