This program is a collaboration between the B.L.A.C.K. (Black Leaders Accessing Consciousness through Knowledge) and the L.A.T.I.N.X. (Latinx Accessing Their Intellect through Networking and Exchange) experience programs. The mission is to break down professional barriers for underrepresented identities in the workplace.
Julianna Akuamoah ensures that all HR strategies fuel agency growth. She is a trusted advisor dedicated to fostering an award-winning work culture. Julianna's journey into the advertising industry was anything but typical. She studied Psychobiology and Neuroscience at Wellesley College. After graduating, she spent 10 years in Los Angeles in a corporate management role, as well as working as a choreographer and dancer. She spent several years as a recruiter, and began to narrow in on creative talent. But eventually, longing for the East Coast, she moved back to Boston.
As a creative recruiter, new to the market, she was captivated by one of her clients, Allen & Gerritsen. Over time she helped define a role for herself at the agency, where she could lean into her entrepreneurial spirit and challenge the status quo. After 5 years at A&G, she moved on to lead Diversity & Inclusion efforts at Hill Holliday before joining the Arnold Executive Leadership Team. If you stop Arnold by on any given day, you may find her mentoring and coaching at all levels, partnering with the Executive Leadership team, recording voiceovers, telling candidates about opportunities for growth and inspiring a focus on diversity, equity and cultural relevance.
She is an active creative with a passion for songwriting and art. She delivers value by providing strategic and operational insights while fostering a creative, inclusive and collaborative environment.
Marcela Cruz first started her career in Tech Staffing & Sales before being introduced to the Advertising industry. In 2016, she joined Havas Media as a recruiter to help staff across various accounts managed out of their Boston office. In addition to talent acquisition, Marcela has also worked with her team to launch successful summer internship programs and other networking opportunities in partnership with colleges, universities and local organizations. At Havas, Marcela has truly enjoyed working with such a great team and has quickly found herself getting involved with coordinating office events, activities and initiatives that celebrate the office culture and amazing people at the agency.
Jane O'Neil is a seasoned full-cycle recruiter with 15 years of experience hiring top talent and building the Arnold Worldwide brand, one candidate at a time. Jane's talent acquisition expertise encompasses nearly all agency functions, from marketing and strategy, to project management and integrated production. A particular passion of Jane's is finding and cultivating young talent, just starting to embark on their careers.
Prior to joining Arnold, Jane worked in account management at Boston-based creative agencies, Ingalls and Clarke Goward, where she worked on a wide variety of accounts in diverse categories, including retail, packaged goods and quick service restaurant. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in English from The College of the Holy Cross.
Jane lives in Wakefield with her husband of 28 years, Matt and their 18 year-old twins, Lucas and Lily, who will be off to college in the fall.
