INTL/Undergrad Freshmen Career Week: It’s Not About the Accent: Easy Strategies for Anyone with an Accent to Make Yourself Understood in Any Situation for Internship, Co-op, or Job Success

Jan 27 • 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join Dr. Christi Barb, our presenter and an expert in helping international students, for this fun and interactive workshop before you have to interview for a great internship, on-campus position, co-op or after graduation opportunity! This is the only time this workshop will be offered this year. Registration Encouraged but Not Required.

You know you need to think about what you're going to say in an interview, but how are you going to say it? In American English, how you say it is as important as what you say. Miscommunication can be caused by differences in how your English is being perceived compared to what your intended meaning is.

The presenter will explain how native English speakers use pitch to express meaning and demonstrate some great resources. This workshop will feature practical strategies for English that you can use and apply for Internship, Co-op and Career Success.

This workshop is for international students (all non-native English speakers are welcome to attend).

The best way to attend this workshop is in person. Can't attend but wish you could- watch the workshop via live streaming at the following link: https://bluejeans.com/946298181
