INTL:American Small Talk for International Students

Feb 25 • 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

You might think small talk is a waste of time, but nothing could be further from the truth. Learning the art of American small talk will build your confidence, help you bond with strangers and most of all, make them remember you. This workshop is designed to help international students improve their small talk skills. By the end of the workshop, each student will be able to approach more social and networking settings with more confidence.

It will cover appropriate and inappropriate discussion topics and strategies for using conversations to build friendships, working relationships, and professional networks.

The best way to attend this workshop is in person. Unable to go but would you like to participate via watching the workshop live via streaming?

Co-sponsored with Global Student Success and Employer Engagement and Career Design.

This program connects to the SAIL domain Global Mindset using Intercultural Competency skills, Personal and Professional Effectiveness using strategic thinking and networking skills, and communication skills.
