Employer Sessions
Recruiting & Branding Events
Coffee Chat
If this is your first time on campus, we recommend you consider a coffee chat. This informal drop-in style type of event is popular with our students. We typically arrange a high traffic area, typically in our student center. You are provided with a 6ft table for setup, and we will bring a kiosk for checking students in.
In terms of your table/area, we encourage you to bring your organizational brand in order to fill the space. Some recommendations include swag for giveaways, branded linen, marketing collateral, product displays, and/or treats.
Post-event, we will email your representative(s) an attendance list, complete with resumes if desired. Coffee chats can be scheduled at any time throughout the day. We recommend a 2-3 hour time slot. There is no fee for a coffee chat.
Connection Session
Connection Sessions provide employers an opportunity to engage students through hands-on learning experiences that build practical skills while showcasing your organization’s expertise. These interactive sessions move beyond traditional presentations to offer experiential activities such as case study workshops, coding challenges, or elevator pitch practice, as well as educational programming like mock interviews or resume review clinics. Students value these sessions as a chance to develop professionally while learning directly from industry practitioners. Employers who have established a brand on our campus benefit most from hosting Connection Sessions, as students already familiar with your organization are eager to gain practical insights and skills they can’t develop through online research alone.
Sessions are typically scheduled after classes from 4:30pm onward. Following the event, we’ll provide your representative(s) with an attendance list, complete with resumes if desired. There is no fee for a Connection Session and these sessions must be requested at least 2 weeks in advance through NUworks. It is a typical best practice to bring an alum (if possible), order food for evening sessions and bring swag.
Employer in Residence
- Help students prepare competitive application materials
- Conduct informational interviews
- Mentor students on career pathways and industry trends
Time commitments are flexible, ranging from a single 2-hour session to weekly full-day engagements throughout the academic year. This program is ideal for alumni and hiring managers to connect with the next generation of leaders. There is no fee to participate as an Employer in Residence.
On-Campus Interview
On-Campus Interview (OCI) space is available on the 2nd floor of Stearns Center (GPS address: 420 Huntington Ave, Boston MA, or Building #37 on our campus map) weekdays from 8:30 am – 5 pm. Recruiting space is unavailable on holidays, or during the reading period and final exams (academic calendar). Employers may arrive by 8:30 am to prepare for their day.
To participate in an OCI, we require employers to register on NUworks. Once approved as a NUworks employer, employers can complete the On-Campus Interview request form found on the NUworks dashboard. When completing the form, please:
- Input a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice for OCI dates
- Input preferred time (Morning, Afternoon, or Full Day)
- Input Job ID number for the OCI position
Off-Campus Connection
These are for any on-ground events that do not happen on the Northeastern campus. If you are planning an event off-campus, consider requesting an off-campus connection so we can share it with our students!
Virtual Events
Our primary campus events can all be recreated virtually. Give a presentation, answer questions, and connect with students from any one of our global or regional campuses. Virtual events are a great way to increase access to your candidate pool without leaving your office.
For virtual sessions, we will follow up after the event to collect attendance information for Northeastern students who participated. We rely on this data to report outcomes, so please be prepared to provide an attendance list.
