Portfolio Review Week

At Tank Design, we believe that career growth is shaped by the work we do, continuous learning, and building meaningful relationships that help us navigate the industry. Portfolio Review Week is designed to give students the opportunity to engage with our team, receive expert guidance, and strengthen their portfolios, project work, and professional networks.
This opportunity is open to senior students from local universities and colleges who are interested in working in a creative agency environment. We welcome students pursuing degrees in UI design, computer science, front-end development, user experience, or digital project management.
College seniors only. Must be able to attend the interview in person at 14 Tyler Street 2nd Floor Somerville, Ma the week of April 27th. Ideal candidates should have a solid foundation in their field, with at least 2–3 projects that demonstrate their skills, problem-solving abilities, and creative or technical approach.

What to Expect: A Real Agency Interview Experience

Virtual Phone Screen: Learn about Tank (our work, culture, team structure, and roles), who you will meet, and how to prepare for the interview.
In-Person Interview: Meet with HR and an agency professional, following mock interview agenda: bio, present portfolio and/or projects relevant to capability, Q&A.
Career & Relationship Building: Gain insights on navigating the industry, understanding agency roles, salary expectations, and offer-stage conversations while building connections with professionals at Tank Design.

Qualifications by track
(College seniors only)
User Interface/Visual Design

Strong understanding of visual design principles, UX/UI, typography, branding, and digital product design
Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
Ability to design web or product interfaces, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
2–3 projects demonstrating design thinking, problem-solving, and execution

Front-End Development

Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
Understanding of responsive design, version control (Git), and API integration
Experience building interactive web experiences
2–3 coding projects shared via GitHub or another platform

User Experience Design

Experience with research, user flows, wireframing, or prototyping
Ability to explain design decisions and user-centered thinking
Projects that demonstrate process, insights, and problem-solving

Digital Project Management

Interest in managing creative or technical projects in a team environment
Familiarity with project planning, communication, timelines, and collaboration
Examples of projects where you helped organize teams, manage deliverables, or drive execution

Content Production / Digital Storytelling

Interest in creating content for digital platforms such as social media, websites, campaigns, or brand storytelling
Ability to translate ideas into engaging visual or written content
Experience with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, video editing tools, or social media platforms
Understanding of how content supports brand voice, audience engagement, and marketing goals
2–3 examples of content work such as social campaigns, video, photography, motion, copywriting, or brand storytelling
