Ask a Recruiter – MassDOT

Oct 3 • 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

At MassDOT Highway, we own the roads – literally. The infrastructure we build and maintain drives economic opportunity, betters our environment, and keeps Massachusetts moving. Here, transportation is more than a career: it’s a unique opportunity to have a real, positive impact in all our lives.
That’s why we are always looking for people like you: thinkers, visionaries, and problem-solvers who are ready to go above and beyond for the people of Massachusetts. Whether you’re seeking advancement, stability, camaraderie, or work-life balance, this is your road ahead. This is where you get to build your journey.
You’ll join a team of like-minded professionals who are passionate about making a difference. Your work will be essential to one of the fastest growing infrastructure programs in the Northeast, greatly improving our highways, roads, and bridges. Get people and goods where they need to go, safely.
MassDOT Highway does much more to maintain our roads and bridges than you may think. From day one, you’ll work on innovative projects such as:

Designing smart bridges to help fish migrate up and down stream
Building bike and pedestrian paths to support commuter mode shifts
Inspecting bridge supports – underwater
Developing usage policies that make our roads safer
Deploying drones to gather crucial data

Your only limit is your imagination. If you’re ready to do your part to move Massachusetts – and your career – forward, you’ll find your crew at MassDOT Highway. And wherever you want to go, you can get there from here.
Here’s but a sample of what you can expect at MassDOT Highway:

Work with top-ranked engineers, both in the field and the office, on everything from hydraulics, geotechnical, and environmental systems to research and technology
Prepare and evaluate design and construction documents
Compile and analyze reports, studies, and data that have a real-world impact
Assist or serve as Resident Engineer inspecting construction and maintenance projects for roadways, intersections, bridges, and more
Oversee the construction process and staffing for important projects, making sure that contractors follow contract documents and specifications
Make sure that construction work zones and traffic management setups are safe
Test materials for environmental hazards to keep our workers and the community safe

Just as important, you’ll be doing this as part of the only team that oversees our transportation infrastructure. While other transportation professionals stay on the margins, you’ll be right in the action.
