INSPIRE A Husky: How to Conduct Informational Interviews

Nov 16 • 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Would you like to learn from professionals working in career fields of interest to you? Take advantage of our new workshop, #INSPIRE: How to Conduct Informational Interviews. An informational interview is a 20-30 minute meeting where you are interviewing an individual Husky alumni or employer one on one, either in person or virtually, to learn more about careers, industries, internships, concentrations, or majors that you might be interested in, or to help you to answer a career question you need advice on, all the while developing your network! You have the freedom to ask the questions that really matter to you in an information interview. You don’t ask for a job or job leads- this is strictly to learn from the journey of a professional in an area of interest and to receive career-related advice. 100% of students who have completed INSPIRE Information Interviews would recommend this service to a friend.

This workshop will help you:

Identify your goals for the information interview.
Find professionals of interest to speak with.
Create a customized introduction.
Develop personalized questions related to your goals.

After the workshop, receive individualized assistance throughout the process of conducting your information interview. You will also be able to meet with a Career Coach to reflect after the information interview experience and develop personalized next steps. *Please note this workshop will have a worksheet you will utilize during the workshop which you can build on after the workshop.
