Career Development Appointments & Drop-Ins

Whether you’re figuring out what you want to do, putting together application materials, or preparing for interviews, Career Design can help. We work with undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral candidates, and alumni at every stage.

There are four main ways to connect:

  • Drop in to the Career Studio for quick help
  • Schedule an appointment for a longer conversation
  • Join our workshops to cultivate beginner or advanced career skills
  • Access other resources for self-guided support, workshops, and other events

Not sure where to start? Join a drop in and we’ll help you figure out what you need.

Note: Students in MBA and Master’s programs in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business are served by the MBA Career Center.

Use the Career Studio drop-in hours for quickest access to one-on-one career support.

  • No appointment needed
  • Show up during hours of operation and be seen in order of arrival
  • Spend 20 minutes discussing applications, networking, job search basics, or anything else career related

Follow this guide for help getting into the virtual studio.

Hours change around holidays and breaks.

Schedule an appointment for 60-minute sessions for when you need help thinking through your specific situation, like choosing a direction, building a search strategy, or taking an assessment.

To make an appointment, log in to Navigate, select Advising, then Career Design, and choose the appointment that works best for you.

CPS students do not have Navigate access. Email e.goldman@northeastern.edu or call (617)373-2430 to schedule.

You don’t need an appointment to start making progress. Check our events calendar for our current work schedule:

  • Foundational workshops cover resume writing, LinkedIn, internship search, and other job search basics – look for “101” in the title
  • Advanced workshops go further into topics like developing full-time ready job search strategies and using AI for support
  • International student workshops cover work authorization (OPT, CPT), job search strategies specific to international students, and talk about work eligibility with employers
  • Employer info sessions and panels connect you directly with companies recruiting Northeastern students

We also offer a range of self-driven learning content, like:

Quick Guides: Explore step-by-step guides for resumes, cover letters, interviewing, networking, and job search strategy. Start with the one closest to where you are right now.

Canvas: Dive into self-guided learning by accessing our Canvas page.

Some students and groups have dedicated resources:
